I am trying to make VCDs. I have a Pioneer DV-333 DVD player. When I make VCDs (with NERO 5.5), my player sees it as a VCD and the track shows up and counter runs on display, but no video or audio comes up, only blue screen. I have used 3 different media including CDRW. Please help, I'm going nuts.

First, verify the MPEG file by playing it with WMP on your PC to see if it plays (video and sound).
Second, describe how you create your MPEG file.
I have the same DVD player (and also the DV-343 which is nearly identical), they both plays almost anything I put in it (any kind of media, VCD, SVCD, XVCD, still photo VCD, etc...)
BTW, Nero 5.5 is also what I use to burn the disc. Make sure that you check "standard VCD" in Nero before burning.
