    There's a lot of different kind of firewire cable.

    Does the 50$ gold plated and shielded firewire cable give better quality capture than 10$ standard cable ?

    That is a good question. Does anyone know the answer? Also, I am using an ADVC-100 connected to my SoundBlaster Audigy Firewire port. Would there be any difference between the port on my sound card and buying a firewire PCI card?

    There should be no difference as the signal is digital.
