Looking to transfer some video from camcorder to my iMac.
The camcorder is pretty old, working with a JVC GR-D395U miniDV.
I *think* I've found some cables but I'm not sure on the pin number.
Do I need a 9/4 pin cable?

The camera has a 4 pin port. Your computer would likely have a 6 pin or 4 pin port for FW400, or a 9 pin port for FW800. The smaller 4 pin ports are more common for laptops.
So use a 6/4, 4/4 or 9/4 pin cable, depending on your computer port.

...and do make sure you have connected the camcorder to power, as well.
