    too expensive
    BUT A GREAT IDEA
    the early (not posted yet) reviews says its a large (physically) device with a internal fan...

    The Iomega Dual writer is an NEC ND1300 clone. You should have few, if any, issues with the unit.

    Maybe you should wait for the new Iomega burner that supports all writable DVD formats. It's scheduled to ship next month (August '03).

    My information is that the NEC drives are garbage, much like the older Sony drives. I hear they have problems with cheap media and with accuracy on 4x burning. I've not tested one myself, as dual-formats don't interest me too much yet, just passing on the things I get whispered into my ear. I've got my eye on the Pioneer A06 though.
