  1. I just bought 20 disk TDK 4X DVD +R but I just read the warning label on this bundle DVD. It said that this media is intended for use with 4x speed DVD +R drives. Using this media with drives rated to record at 2.4X maximum speed may result in recording and reading error, and/or may result in damage to the data." I just want to know if anyone in here has successfully burnt this media with a 2.4X recorder. I just want to make sure if I can burn this media with a 2.4X burner before I open the products.

    Thanks for your inputs.

  2. Good question, I was just about to buy some on sale. I have a Sony DRU 500A, anyone know if that will work?

Get the firmware update for your burner. Check out www.dvdplusrw.org, or the drive's maker's website for an update.

With 2x max Pioneer drives, using 4x media will/can harm the drive without the correct firmware.

+RW drives say the disc will produce read/write errors, and may harm the drive.

    The Sony500 is a 4x burner, doesn't apply here.
