AC3 problem...?

i am trying to extract "AC3 Audio" from an "XVID Movie" using Virtual Dub. I can watch the movie on my computer and hear the sound too. I have the necessary codecs (XVID Codec, AC3 Filter). The problem is that whenever I try to extract it with Virtual Dub, an error pops up that says---> "ACM failed to suggest audio decompression format", AVIOutputWAV: The handle is invalid." Some assistance to this problem would be helpful, thank you.

Check the guides, there's several ways to extract AC3 to wav. I prefer to use Goldwave, just load the avi then save.
