  1. What does everyone here use VCD's for?

    Thanks

  2. If you collect enough of them you can have a year end blow-out, with everyone hiding behind any object you can find as they're thrown at insane speeds towards your face.

  3. One of my useful use of VCD:

Convert some lessons on VHS tape to VCD, each lesson is one track on VCD.

This way, I can always replay the desired lesson without
having to fast forward or rewind the tape to locate the exact spot.

Others: archive family movies (from Hi8 and Digital 8 tapes). Again, I got random access here too to any video clip I want.

Having to search the tape and the right spot was a pain before I learned to make VCD. Actually, I made XVCD or SVCD for better quality.

  4. When all is said and done this is a hobby for most of the people here. Just creating x(S)VCD is oddly fun for some reason. Non-linear editing, making motion menus (that work), trying to add extra audio tracks, etc. etc.

    Anyway most seem to:

    Rip DVDs
    Make home karaoke discs
transfer home movies to digital format
record TV shows they like w/ TV capture cards (takes up less space then VHS tapes)
transfer from VHS (again save space, stops degrading)
Output for editing of home movies
    etc. etc.

  5. lately all I've been doing is svcd's because with doom 9's program, and school going on it makes it a whole lot easier to hit the go button and leave my pc on all day.
