  1. Hi,
I'm really new at DVD burning. Only started a few weeks ago. Last night I finally got a decent copy of Finding Nemo burned to a DVD+RW which plays fine in my DVD player. So far I have tried 2 types of DVD+R discs(HP & Memorex) and neither will play in my DVD player. So what I'm wondering is, Do you think its my Burner(Hp 200e) or my Dvd player(Sony). Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

    Thanks!

That's the EXACT same DVD player (well at least the oldest one that I have) I own and it doesn't play DVD+R disks very well but it will read +RW no problem at all. It's a VERY old DVD player and that's why the compatibility isn't very good with recordable disks. It doesn't play -R disk too well either, but -RW disks are no problem. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't, but when it does work, sometimes it freezes. hehehe

I would just suggest buying a new player, I have 3 total players and the Sony 300 is my oldest.

  5. Also another conflicting factor is that when we first started burning we burned several things on +r discs and they played but the video and audio sync was the major problem so now it just won't play at all. Do I need to possibly re-install my burner. My computer uses windows xp, don't know if that is a factor in anything or not.

If I need to just get a different DVD player I'll probably just try to get RW discs cheap off of ebay instead getting a new DVD player(which still works perfectly).

Since I started burning, its been one problem after another, video & audio synch, avi to mpeg conversion, and now won't play at all. I'm about ready to tear my hair out. Thanks for the suggestions so far.

  6. If you take the time to read these 152 user reports on your player I believe you will see the player has some issues.

I didn't realize 'Finding Nemo' was out on video already. Wow, that was fast. I just saw that in theatre last Friday as a matter of fact. Great movie, btw...
