I searched but it seems I am the only one having problems with this DVD. I have the original disc for "Big Trouble" (the Tim Allen movie set in Miami) and when I play it back on my AD-5131 it comes out full screen. It is supposed to be letterboxed. When I play it on my PC, it comes out properly (widescreen).
I checked my DVD player's settings for TV type and have changed it from normal to widescreen with no effect on the output. (My TV is a regular 4:3 tube model.)
So a few questions:
Anyone else have this problem? I am not sure if the problem is the way they wrote the IFO on the disc or if it's in my player's playback methods, but this is the only DVD among over 130 I have with this problem.
I have a DVD burner and have successfully backed up many movies using Instantcopy, DVD X Copy, DVD Decryptor, Nero, and also edited some IFO files using Ifoedit to split movies (following Doom9.org guides). I think I know how to do a fair bit of manipulation but I have no idea what I need to change in the IFO files or, frankly, which one(s) I would need to edit. Can anyone help me with this?
I can provide the IFO files--they're less than 100K for all of them--if anyone wants to look at them.
What I would like to do is fix the IFO files and burn a disc that will play back properly in widescreen mode on my AD-5131.
Thanks for any help!
