I'm trying to convert all the Animatrix free downloads to a VCD so that I can view them on my TV/DVD player. I had no trouble with three of the downloads, but the first one, "The Second Renaissance, Part 1" comes through FFMPEGX without any sound. Actually, it has the sound during the opening credits, but then it goes silent. This doesn't happen with any of the other four free downloads. I am using FFMPEGX on the predefined MOV-->VCD [NTSC] setting. Any suggestions? The sound is fine on the original MOV file...

I had a similar problem and it is (evidently) related to how the sound was encoded in the .mov file.
Someone provided a "fix" which is sort of tedious, but works. You record the sound stream through your PC (don't know how it works on a Mac) by opening any sound recording program, selecting "wave in" and playing the .mov in Quicktime or alternate player.
Then you need to combine this sound file with the video stream you've captured and synch it up.
Hope that helps. Good luck.
