  1. I think you can use DVD shrink V2.0 rip the DVD and remove macrovision etc.

Are there any occasions when I should use smartripper or DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD and not DVD Shrink?

Sorry if this question is basic but I am not sure if DVD Shrink rips a DVD and removes all protections the same as Smartripper or DVD Decrypter.

    Cheers

It is my understanding that dvdshrink rips slower than decrypter and smartripper.

Occasionally it seems that decrypter will have trouble reading a disk, then I use smartripper as an alternative ripper.

In my experience this has only happened occasionally.

    your milage may vary.....

  4. I am sure those in the know will correct me, but if memory serves me, DVDShrink removes Macrovision but not the RCE (region coding?) whereas SmartRipper and DVDecrypter will.

Just read that myself in another post. It seems that Smartripper or DVD Decrypter are the way to go to be sure all protections are removed.

By the way I use DVD2one at present and thought I would try DVD Shrink V2.0 to compare the speed and quality.

I will be sticking with DVD2one.

    Thx
