I have made several SVCDs and I am trying to make copies of them and having no luck. If I just try to use CDRWIN to make an image of the SVCD it fails. If I then just copy the MPEG2 file to the HDD that works (I can play it using WinDVD) but when I try to load it in TSCV and try to create a .bin file I get an error ( ...this looks like a RIFF header but a plain multiplexed program stream was required.). If I try to multiplex with TMPGENc it only gets about 1/7 of the way through and crashes and gives "16 s packets cause buffer underflow The MPEG file might cause error when played".

  2. I just use Nero's CD Copy, never had a problem. So yes, it is possible.

  3. lemmy999,

You may have a few unrecoverable errors on your disc. If you have problems with other CD copying proggies, you may have more luck with the Blindread.

I finally got it to work using CloneCD but while making an image it failed to read secotrs 6497 and 79797. It then failed to write in RAW write mode. I changed it to SAO mode and it worked and the new SVCD seemed to play ok. What is causing these weird problems? Is it my CD-RW drive doing a poor job reading, the CD-RW drive did a poor job writing the original SVCD, or the media sux? I have 30 SVCDs that are all the same media (memorex 80 minute) and written with the same drive. Thanks for the responses. BTW, I NERO and CDRWIN would not work.

well, just strip off the RIFF wrapping, by running it through a cdxa2mpeg like tool...

just in case you want to see some c source, see
    http://vcdimager.hvrlab.org/pub/vcdimager/contribs/cdxa2mpeg.c
this should be adaptable quite easy to compile under windows... it's mostly ANSI C ...
