  1. I am a newbie, and instead of cluttering the forum with a newbie question I did some searching around, and found how to convert my avi movie to mpeg, and then burn it. I also found how to make menus using Nero. I come here today to seek info on how to make chapters using Nero, I am making a vcd, and was wondering if it is possible to make chapters with Nero?? Or will I need to use another program.

    Thanks

yes, you can make chapters. Each file that you drop into Nero is a new chapter break. If you have one large file, you need to split them up into smaller files that will become your seperate chapters. This is real easy to do using Ulead Video Studio 6 or better. You can use many other programs to do the same thing. I think any mpeg splitter will do the trick.

those aren't real chapters. thats just a multitrack disc. there will be a pause between each clip. vcdeasy comes closer to actual chapters.

  5. Although it would depend on what you consider to be a "chapter" I agree completely with Conquest10.

Nero can make a multitrack VCD but most people don't consider them "chapters" in the sense that you don't get seamless playback.

The only way to make chapters on a VCD is to use the entrypoints as described here: http://www.michaeltam.com/chapters.html I suggest that you use VCDEasy. Nero cannot make such a VCD.

I agree with using VCDEasy, and yes you can then make REAL chapters. I was just explaining the only way of doing it in Nero. VCDEasy is free, so why use nero?
