I use Nero7 to burn my converted avi files- films, tv shows etc (usually three hour-long documentaries onto one disk etc), but have a problem whenever I try to create chapters for more than one programme that I have 'added' to Nero Vision.

It behaves itself at first, the three docs are added to the 'add chapter' screen fine, then auto chapters works fine, then the problem. After this last phase it seems to 'lose' the two other docs? Why? What am I doing wrong?

To get chaps into each seperate programme, I've tried every different approach I can think of.

Can anyone help please? An easy step-through would be great if poss? Thanks

Did you check the file after adding chapters. There is a manual way to add them and you can modify them. Why I say that, it is possible that all files are combined into one with chapters.
The way that manual describe it, that Nero treat every title as one chapter, so when you add chapters it will split the files to make continuous chapter sequence.

    Thanks tinker

Well I burned the lot, then when I replayed back on my dvd player, only the 1st programme had the chapters, the other two I had to f/forward through to find any later scene. So it can't have added any?

    Sorry
If you do not mind, check TMPGEnc DVD Author, I think it is better than Nero.
If you insist on Nero, use DVD Shrink to add all files together and than Nero to do your chapters. It will be one file so it should work.

There are other softwares to make DVD but this one is not so expensive and has 30 day try.

Thanks tinker, really appreciate your good advice.

I've already shelled out for Cucusoft(months ago- so as to avoid the watermarks and cut-short films) so am reticent to pay out again for any other not-free program!

I've used dvdshrink and it's great, but it won't accept avi files from my folder, or I'd follow that otherwise great idea.

I'll give it some thought, though I'm leaning towards the idea of just buying a divx dvd player/recorder.
