  1. I have got a downloaded avi file, and it has 256 bad frames, and I can't seem to get it in Virtualdub to remove the bad frames. I go to the save as avi option and then when it saves, instead of saving a 152 mb file, which is the original size, it save like 18.5GB for the file, and on top of that the file that is burned still has all of the 256 bad frames. So how do I get it so that the bad frames are deleted and the saved file is one hundred and something MB instead of many gigabytes?

Set both Audio and Video to "Direct Stream Copy" before saving and you shouldn't have any problems. Otherwise it saves it in uncompressed format which is very large (as you found out). 8)

  6. To scan for bad frames, all you need to do, is open up the file in VirtualDub, and then click on the video tab up the top, and then there is an option that should be right down the bottom saying scan video for stream errors.... and that scans all the file for errors.

  7. If you get the Virtualdub MP3 Freeze version it can scan and record the bad frame locations.

(scroll down to MP3 freeze version)
