I agree. One downfall of DVD2SVCD is random break points. Granted you can go back in and re-cut the master files, but it's a bit tedious, especially with the custom Insert Next Disk screens.

However, it's effing doomed without TMPG support. I mean it does CVD out of the box, but oh well. 9 additional installations are going to hurt the newbs as well. I got some more backups I need to do, this will give me something to play with (nice side by side comparison).

  2. Hopefully, Baldrick or someone can add this to the tools page!

  3. @Gazorgan: Then you haven't tried the Frameselection feature in dvd2svcd, which makes it possible for you to make the cutpoint exactly where you want.

This program wasn't built for a competition with DVD2SVCD. Here is only my vision, my choice and your choice. It is not multifunctional, like DVD2SVCD, and too rich functionality isn't my target, but it's in the development process. In the nearest future it will support TMPGenc, AVI input etc...
What's about installation of 9 programs, it's no more than in other tools,
    look:
Avisynth - required for any other tool
    BeSweet - for audio
Encoder - necessary for any other tool
    Pulldown - for NTSC only
Multiplexor - necessary for any other tool
VCDImager - create discs images - necessary for any other tool
Link2 (or/and VFAPIreader soon) -only for PrCoder
vStrip - will be replaced with built-in procedures

  5. @migor: I just wanted to correct Gazorgan, who posted something that he apparently didn't know regarding dvd2svcd. In no way do I mind another tool for DVD to SVCD conversion. I'm sorry if that is how my prior post seemed to be.

Maybe, the server was busy... The downloads are OK!
    Try http://www.svcdbuilder.vze.com too.
If it doesn't work, I can send the file by e-mail.
