  1. i tried encoding an avi file into an mpeg file to burn into a SVCD with the program TMPGEnc. The problem I have is that the video and audio is out of sync meaning the video and audio don't go along. The audio is like "half-sec" off. I I used "Virtual Dub" to extract the audio and usually all the other movies I did work, so what CAN I do to make it "in-sync"???

Did you scan for bad frames first using Virtualdub?

Vdub comes in two flavours for checking bad frames, regular Vdub and Vdub-mp3. The mp3 version is used when the audio is VBR (variable bitrate) you'll know if it is VBR because Vdub gives you a warning.

In regular Vdub: Load your AVI, under Video select Scan Video Stream for Errors, Vdub will mask any bad and undecodable frames, select Audio Direct Stream Copy, select Video Direct Stream Copy, Save Avi to create a new file without bad frames.

In Vdub-MP3, slightly more complicated but basically doing the same thing, here's a guide: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=142555

    Good luck! 8)

  5. Is the sync off right from the begining of the file or does it start later?
Does it get worse as it goes on or stay the same?
