I've got a couple of questions, really. The first is in the subject line. I'm trying to create submenus with DVD Movie Factory and can't figure it out. The templates will make them for me if I have chapters, but I want submenus to group whole files as well. There doesn't seem to be a way to do it. If anybody knows...
Question #2: What other authoring applications will leave DVD-compliant MPEGs alone? I want to do the conversion process in TMPGenc; I don't want the files reconverted by the authoring program. DVD Movie Factory is the only one I've used (that I know how to use) that leaves the files as they are. The others I've tried include Roxio DVD Builder, Sonic MyDVD, and DVD Workshop. I have a feeling DVD Workshop will do this but I'm not sure how. I want to give DVDMaestro a try but I'll wait on that learning curve.
Thanks,
Dale

1. No.
2. DVDLab. By far the best DVD authoring program, it's also one of the most reasonable ($79 for the power of a $500 program). You can create the sort of menus you want and the basic philosophy behind it is to leave things alone -- you create your content elsewhere. It sounds perfect for you."Like a knife, he cuts through life, like every day's his last" -- Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang -
Thanks mkelly...
I'm downloading the trial version right now.
All of these apps are nice; it's just hard to find exactly what I'm looking for.

Upgrade to DVD Workshop. You can make submenues with it. I have made menues with 1 main menu and 10 sub menus. It provides you with buttons or you can use your own that you can link to any menu, movie clip, or chapter of a movie clip. All in All I love this program.

Can you tell me what you do to get submenus with DVD Workshop.
I was never able to do it, and reading the (light) doc one more time, it is not documented. -
mkelley...
You were right; DVD-lab is great. Works beautifully.
You came through for me. Thanks very much!
