Pioneer 104 rw/r

I have been offered a Pioneer 104 D.V.D. RW/R it is 1year old and I want to fit it in my Compaq E.V.O. D300 1.7 can any body tell me anything about it and what I would expect to pay for it,thanks to any-ones advice, cheers (Maurice)

It is a 2x DVD-R, 1x DVD/RW, 8x CD-R, 4x CD-RW burner, and will read 6x DVD, 24x CD.

The newer 105 model usually sells for $250+ retail, with OEM version on major sale as low as $150 (but is hard to find). Since the faster media is required to record DVD-R/RW faster, many people with the newer model are using it like a 104 anyway (like myself).

Assuming it is working with a lot more burning hours life left to it, if you can get it for under $150, it is a great deal (with alot of effort/luck can find a new 105 at this price). Below $200 it would still be a good deal (but if lucky can find a new 105 for around $200 with medium amount of effort). Above $200 and you can probably get a newer model 105 never been used for a little bit more (with very little effort/luck).

I can buy 104 and 105 drives new for $175. So $150 or less would be fair.
Plus old drives die eventually. The early ones were not made to last (lots of dead 103/104 issues these days).

Where can you get the drives for $175 continually (without catching those sales that seem to no longer be occurring)
