  1. Hi, I recorded just 40 Minutes of a movie and wasted 8GB on my hard drive already. Is there a way to make the file smaller? Or other program that better than Ulead Video Studio 7 to make it smaller? Thank You

  2. While capturing, NOT encode after.

  3. Ulead Video Studio 7 offers many different capture settings. What kind of video are you trying to make, DV, DVD(MPEG2), VCD(MPEG1)..... If you are trying to preserve DV format and return it to the camcorder, you will need a bigger hard drive. Try captureing to MPEG2. You can also adjust the capture bit rate for mpeg2.

  4. Other video format from Ulead Video Studio 7 LAGS. Only avi format go smoothly. Help?

  5. What do you mean by LAGS? When captureing DV to Mpeg or other formats the real time preview screen is not what the finished product will look like. Becuae the encoding time is slightly longer then the real capture time the preview video is incremented.

    AznTLC,

When you say,.... "the sound go on and off" is that between video clips or still shots where you have inserted a transistion effect?

If so I'm having the exact same problem with VideoStudio7. With this bug in the software it has virtually rendered the software useless to me.

The only thing right now I'm using VideoStudio 7 for is producing slow motion clips which have integrated perfectly into VideoStudio 6.

I have written them serveral times regarding this problem and I hope they come out with a patch soon!

Well, I have been very pleased with Ulead VideoStudio versions 4, 5 and 6. Version 7 has been a disappointment because of the audio problem but the slow motion has been great.

If you go to www.wrestling-videos.net you can see some great high school wrestling highlight clips all produced with Ulead VideoStudio 6.

  11. I had some audio problems when rendered with Audio setting to LPCM. I re-rendered to Audio setting MPEG and the issues went a way. Sounds like a different problem than what you are seeing. My problem was no audio when applying it to TMPGenc and AVIcodec.

When I capture DV to MPEG the video also "lags" and the audio is intermittend from the real time preview screen. The finished rendered product however is fine.

    Good luck.

  12. Is there a way to capture from TV directly without Video Studio 7 turnin on PLAY from my Camera? Thanks

  13. Hi

I';ve jsut started using video Stuido 7 too (never usded ANY other editing software before, so am a newbee to this)! The audio on off during transition effects was annoying me too, but ti seems that the reason is becuase it is actually overlapping it with the audio from the video it grabs after the tarnisition effects, then when it mixes it together, you get a comibition of both soundtracks during the effect! The way to get over this, is to grab a pic of the first frame after the effect, then insert it for as long as the effect is needed (best only make the effect about 1 second, ro it looks bad), then it is okay, as the pic has no audio track to interfer with the audio teack from before the transisition! Hope this makes some sense, and helps you out as a quick fix until ULEAD fix it!

What do you capture from ? DV Camcorder ? If yes.... 8GB is not waste... it is just copy of data on your tape without loss. If you like to introduce loss right in the begging of your process that you can start with something smaller....

  15. Waste? Any capture is going to use drive space. Also depends on what setting you are using.
