Hello!

I use Ulead Video Studio 9 for creating personal videos and as I import different source files (wmv-HD, DV, Divx, mpeg2) I just wanna know which colorspace Ulead uses during editing. Is it RGB or YUV?

The background of my question: I import files with YUV-colorspace and do a lot of color correction. So I Would like to know if Ulead converts all files to RGB and than back to YUV which I've heard is not good. I refer to a homepage http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/colorspace.html; see last lines:
"Many people once used YUY2 mode in HuffYUV all the time thinking it was lossless - so they would import into Premiere, edit, export to YUY2, import again, edit, export again and each time it went into Premiere it was being converted into RGB and each time it was compressed to HuffYUV it was being converted to YUY2. This has lead to many faded-looking videos in the past."
As my PC is too weak to handle HD-material along with other different encoded material my aim is to convert all source video material unitary to HuffYUV (YUY2 colorspace), and after editing to save it again as HuffYUV (or maybe converting directly to Divx or DVD-Mpeg2).

I already sent a inquiry to Ulead but didn't get any answer yet.

Instead It would be helpful if you know a forum where I can reach some Ulead experts.

Thanks in advance!
Froddy!
