I am going to use 2pass VBR for my conversions and im wondering that the best settings for that are?
Im am going to put the movies into 2CDs.
What should the average, maximum and minimum bitrate be?
And where can I find a bitrate calculator for the average bitrate?
Should I use the Highest Quality mode in "Motion Search Precision" ?

My DVD player does not like the bitrate to be too high or too low, so my minimum is 400 min. (padding enabled) and 2500 max. Your min. setting can be lower to free up more bits for higher action scenes, as well as a higher max. to give better quality. You may need to do some testing if you want to push the limits. I set my average to fill the disk, but I don't like going below 1700 as I find quality suffers. I'll use 3 disks instead.
I use High Quality mode, not highest. The opinions are that the highest mode greatly increases encoding time without improving quality much. Test and compare.
If you're using TMPGEnc (sounds like it) then the Wizard will let you set the average bitrate to fill the disk (I go to 99%). If you need a bitrate calculator, they're in the Tools section.
Good luck!8)
