i have an ati radeon video card and i was wondering if i can connect to my standalone dvd to make vcd copies/ dubbing

Your really better off ripping the DVD and encoding that but to answer your question directly probably so.

You sure can, and it make's the movies in half the time. Just plug it in !!
vidio out to video in etc, be be aware you may come across the protection "Macrovision" I am sure you will find a way to get past that....
