I have a downloaded avi file that I want to convert to mpg (in tmpgenc) and burn as VCD. When I open the avi in Virtualdub and play it the picture is fine but as soon as I try to either convert it to another avi codec or even just do a 'fast scan' the picture breaks up into horizontal stripes. The same thing happens if I try to convert the file straight to mpg in tmpgenc.
e.g.
The file details are as follows...
I think the problem may be due to the file width not being a multiple of 4 as is required by Div Pro 5.0.3 by I have tried cropping/resizing the picture and I still end up with a stripey output file.
So ... is there anything I can do to convert the file or should I just watch it on the PC and bin it ?
