I am having problems with a film i have when i try to join it. Originally it is in 4 parts and i want it in 2 so i can copy it to 2 dvd's. Parts 3 and 4 have joined fine. When i try to join parts 1 and 2 i lose the last 25 minutes of the second part. All parts played fine individually and the joined part 3 and 4 are excellent. Part 2 plays a full 45 mins but only the first 20 minutes joins to part 1. I am using TPPGEnc. What could it be?

There is absolutely no need to join them. You gain nothing by joining.
Splitting is necessary because sometimes you have to split a file to fit it into CD. Joining can only screw things up. -
If i do not join them then I would have to run the dvd on one scene for 45 mins then when it stops and then switch to the next scene whereas if i join them i get a 1 full film on eack dvd . Won't I???????

No really. Your authoring program will control how you want them to be played. There are so many vob files on DVD, but they don't play one vob and stop, do they? Authoring decides navigation. That's why joining is never necessary.
