  2. make sure your inputs are set correctly on the bottom right by your clock. the play and record settings sometimes mess me up.

i would stop using the pinnacle drivers. there are universal drivers available that are much better. with the new drivers i can capture at 720x480 and 29.97fps without any dropped frames. the pinnacle drivers didn't support that high of a resolution and are crippled in other ways too i believe.

do a search on google for universal bt8x8 drivers. that's the chip that your card uses. then you won't be able to use the pinnacle software but there is much better freeware available anyway. amcap, dscaler, virtualdub are some examples.

i think those are the same drivers i use towards the bottom of the page.

i have used a program called amcap.exe for captures and also virtualdub for captures. both work good for me. dscaler works good for watching tv. i believe there is a modified version of virtualdub called virtualdubVCR which you can time record things off of tv signals.

do you have the svideo in the capture card, and the sound going into the "line in" on the sound card? then make sure "line in" is selected as the input for the sound card.

can't think of what else would be causing the problem. my capture card has a sound output but no line in, so i use my "line in" on the sound card, like i mentioned earlier.

    hope that helps a little.
