Ok several posts on this forum have convinced me to try ffmpegx instead of mediapipe for converting some of my media files. In regards to the audio sync error i was getting before, i noticed an odd frame rate being reported by ffmpegx during the encode. Is this something normal or is this possibly the root of my problem syncing the audio? I get the following message:

Seems that stream 0 comes from film source: 29.97->24.47
    Input #0, mpegvideo, from '/Users/jason/Movies/8_MILE/TITLE01-ANGLE1-VIDEO1.M2V':
    Stream #0.0: Video: mpegvideo, 720x480, 29.97 fps, 9800 kb/s
    Output #0, yuv4mpegpipe, to 'pipe:':
    Stream #0.0: Video: rawvideo, yuv420p, 720x480, 23.98 fps, q=2-31, 200 kb/s

Where the heck did 24.47 come from??? What consequence does this have on the settings i should use? is my source file fubar perhaps?!

    thanks

  2. Replace the .m2v extension with a .mov extension and relaunch encoding.
