  1. I've got a .RM file I captured from a RealOne source. The ultimate goal is to get this video in VCD format. I couldn't find a good converter to take the .rm file directly to VCD so I used RM Converter and converted the .rm file to a Divx avi file using the DivX Pro 5.0.2 Codec using 1-pass and a bitrate of 7511 kbps using 30fps. The output .avi file looked about as good as I'm going to get given the source.

Next, I want to convert that Divx file into VCD so I used TMPGEnc using basic settings to VCD. The problem is, the output .mpg file has fine audio but the video is just a black screen. I've got the DivX 3.11Alpha codec installed as well as the 5.0.2. What am I missing??

Please, if you know of a better way to get a .rm file to VCD, please let me know that as well.

    Thanks.

Did you try 'eovideo', I use this for all my direct RM to MPG conversions - works fine for me.

If you need to go RM to AVI I suggest you don't use DIVX - it seems to create problems in the conversion - I use the Huffy Codec for AVI and it works well.

  3. for some reason when i use eo video the audio comes out with clicks all through it. i've tried changing the audio properties but no luck.

I fixed the issue with tmpgenc but now im having problems because the rmconverter output avi is 2.7 gig and seems corrupt.

    any ideas.

I haven't tried it yet but eo-video has just released a new version (1.35) supposedly with many bug fixes incl. better audio control you might like to give that a try.
