  1. I hate to cut and paste both SVCDs (2 parts of a movie) and to make it 3 parts, and to burn it on to 3 CDs every time... just because a file is 20 megabytes over the maximum space on the CDR. is there anyway to get around it?

ermmm....710MB is NOT too big for one CD...neither is 750 or 775!!

You can, in actual fact, fit around 795MB of SVCD onto a single 700MB cdr...try it and see!...and no you don't have to overburn...just burn normally...it WILL fit.

Apparently, that is not the case here . I don't know why though. My CDR is 700 MB, but when I try to burn the SVCD this is what I get, http://www.boomspeed.com/mfpsychoboy/my_problem.jpg

Be sure to use a VCD/SVCD template.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

in the New Compilation window in NERO, where CD-ROM(ISO) is at the top of the list and Audio CD is below that and so on, scroll down until you find Super Video CD. Click that and continue as normal.

Oh, damn. Ok this is what I was trying to do. I was trying to burn the SVCD on to a CD so that I can view it on my computer. now, I burned it on to a CD like you said, but I got a bunch of files and folders without the SVCD itself.

that's what a vcd/svcd is supposed to look. it supposed to have folders and files besides the video itself.

  9. the folders you have are

    *Ext
    *Mpeg2
    *Segment
    *Svcd

the movie itself is inside the "Mpeg2" folder, it just has a different name.
    now its called "Avseq01.mpg".
to play it , you can drag and drop into power dvd or whatever you are using.

in powerdvd, you can just select the drive the disc is in and it plays the svcd automatically.

  11. Ok guys, I appreciate the help but a few more things I'm not clear with. I'm really new at this, so I'm having some difficulties.

I burned it on the CD, and my goal is to be able to see it from my computer, from WMP. Not only does browsing the content of this CD slow down my computer, and takes a while... but it also wont play on my AMP. I double-click on the .MPG file and on the WMP it says "connecting..." and doesn't load. I like to view my files from WMP because I find Power DVD very uncomfortable. Thanks for your help.

  12. Anyone know about Ulead DVD Moviefactory2? Can you do the same on there or will it boot out the disc?

  13. you need a mpeg 2 codec, there is one it the "tools" section (i think).
OR try any other player that has a mpeg 2 codec , try using windvd
maybe you will like it more then powerdvd.

  14. Download power dvd or win dvd, both should read it automatically as a SVCD and play it without you having to explore the disk and they come with a mpg2 codec.

The svcd should play in standalone dvd players that support svcds as well.
