  1. Hey guys, I need some help here.

I have some fan subbed Anime in DivX format using an NTSCFilm Frame Rate, and I'm trying to convert it to either MPEG 1 (VCD) or MPEG 2 (DVD) format with one minor problem, the video only looks "right" on the PC!

Here's what happens, I convert the file to MPEG 1 via TMPGenc or to MPEG 2 via Pinnacle Studio 7, and if I play it back on the PC, it looks fine, the picture is all there (i.e. the video looks identical to the DivX file) and you can see the subtitles just like you could in the DivX file.

Now here's where the problem is, I try to either 1. burn the MPEG to VCD (MPEG 1), 2. burn the MPEG to DVD or 3. Output to my TV and I get the same results every time, the video is now "cut" or "cropped" in such a way that it cuts out the top and bottom as well as part of the sides of the video, so I can no longer see parts of the subtitles, OR the sides of the movie!

I've tried reencoding the AVI, using DivFix, reencoding with TMPGenc, burning to a VCD, playing the video out to my TV with a RealMagic Hollywood Plus MPEG-2 Decoder card, and even resizing the AVI BEFORE I convert it to MPEG-1/2 and nothing is fixing this video.

I would appreciate any help, because I'm loosing a lot of the Video when I try tot urn it into a DVD/VCD and I'm also having parts of the subtitles cut.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, again, this video uses the NTSCFilm Frame Rate, it plays fin on the computer, but does NOT convert to a format capable of playback on my TV, please help, I've tried everything I can think of and I can't get the video to look right on the TV screen, I have an NTSC TV so it *should* be working and I've tried several methods to get it onto my 27" TV looking just the way it looks on my 17" PC Monitor, but nothing is working, again any help is greatly appreciated, especially since I've been at this for three days now.

    Regards,
    Cyrax9.

  2. Whne encoding in TmpGenc, don't use the wizard, just load the VCD NTSCfilm template. The click setting and select the Advanced tab. Under Video arrange method, select Centre (Custom size) and enter values that will ensure the whole video is displayed. You may need to do a few short test clips to get the bets values.

    Hope this helps
