Hi, I just bought a Verbatim ultra speed cdrw. When i got home and opened them and took a closer look, i noticed it says that they can ONLY be used in ultra speed burners.
Now i just wanted to know what is so different about these cdrw's that they can only be burned at 16x-24x in a burner with the ultra speed logo on it . And if anybody has used these disks in a normal high speed burner with no problems.
My burner is an LG 40x12x40, and i took alook at some websites(LG,sony, plextor) and nowhere is there mention of these special ultra speed drives.
So im confused, i just want to know if i can use them with no harm to my drive or the cdrw data in the long run .
    Thankyou.

  2. Ultra high speed media(>12x)use a thicker reflective layer which require a more powerful laser to "burn"at high speed. As a general rule you can use 12x CD-R/W media on a 24x writer but not the other way around.
