I've been wanting to say this for a few days but here it is anyway and maybe some programmer can come up with the solution
all I want is a simple tool where you pick what you wanna remove from a fully ripped DVD starting from titleset level right down to Vob ID level and it inserts a nice little blank 0.xx sec file in it's place, maintaining the original DVD structure
I can do this manually now and then feed it to whatever compression tool I use, knowing it will work but if a program could do it automatically for me after I select what I want to remove, it would be great as I could then feed that to any compression tool knowing it would work
DVD95Copy does it now on a titleset level but that's as far as it goes. When it removes a titleset it inserts a 0.xx sec entry into every PGC within that titleset and maintains the DVD structure, but it doesn't do it on a single PGC level within a multiple PGC titleset as it removes them all. So something similar with the replacement but also right down to VOB ID level would be ideal
Basically it's a DVD stripping tool and I'd be happy with just the blank Vob ID/PGC/Titleset inserter tool but if it did include a compression feature and worked a little like this below and it would be one great app
1. Working a bit like Doitfast4U setup, it would start DVDDecrypter or Smartripper ripping all files correctly but also getting correct video/audio/sub sizes
2. then it gives selection (with preview) of what video/audio/subs to remove (from Titleset level right down to VOB ID level), but still maintains original PGC structure and audio/subs streams mapping by creating dummy entries (cropping feature also would be nice if poss)
3. tells you new correct predicted size of DVD before compression
4. the ability to set compression levels(engine used also would be nice) for every PGC if DVD is over 4.37Gb, but when you move a slider up/down the rest are adjusted uniformly to always maintain the 4.37Gb output instead of having to adjust every single one each time you move one. Basically you are allocating a percentage of 4.37Gb to that PGC
5. The option to start DVD normally or jump direct to main menu/movie
5. hit the BIG RED BUTTON and it does the business
6. Burn with anything you want manually or automaically start an app for you
I ain't fussed about speed AT ALL!, as I don't backup 10 DVD's a day like some people seem to give the impression of, it's content and quality I want and that takes time and I'm sure I could manage 1 or 2 DVD's a day with the above and eventually backup the remainder of my collection within a reasonable time
If it takes say 10-15 mins to setup and then you don't have to babysit it while it works and it gives me exactly what I wanted after an hour or 2 then I'd be completely happy and so would the majority of people I guess
So can someone make a working program and maybe develop the speed after?
that's a lot to ask, but basically it would be simliar IC but with the facility to go downto VOBID level and replace the VOB ID's or complete PGC/Titleset's with 0.xx sec files and maintain DVD structure. If a tool did this then it should never really fail on playback as the complete DVD structure will always be maintained. Granted there may be the occasional hiccup but that would be user inflicted if they removed the wrong thing
please, please, please someone make at least a blank VOB ID/PGC/Titleset inserter tool (including audio/subs removal that keeps original mapping)![]()

DVD95Copy can do the Titleset inserting and IC can do the audio/subs mapping already, so all I want is a tool to do the same as DVD95Copy & IC but also include an option to insert a blank PGC(s)into a Multiple PGC titleset and also insert a blank VOB ID into a Titleset
p.s removal/disabling of menu buttons is not necessary cos if a selection is removed then it quite simple does not play anyway cos of the 0.xx sec insert and if you want you can play main menu/movie straight away
p.p.s if you want movie only there are apps out there to do this easily. If you want movie + menu only then use DV95Copy or similar but nothing can do the above as of yet
