    Hi.
Could someone assist wth identifying the best settings for encoding a captured avi (from digital tv) captured at 720 x 576 using Vdub with MJPG PicVideo quality 19 and converting to mpeg2 with TMPGEnc please?
I am unsure as to what settings to use for
    1) Field order and
    2) Aspect ratio

  2. TMPEG is supose to autodetect field order when using the wizard, so I would leave it B, 720 x 576 is a PAL format, and I just have to guess here but since you captured off TV I think its safe to assume 4:3....

So I would suggest using the 4:3 625 line PAL
