  1. I am having major difficulties converting an Xvid movie to SVCD Mpeg compatible.

I downloaded and installed the codec, but DVD2SVCD in avi mode said "Cannot locate decompressor for format 'Xvid' "
I am not one to give up so easily, so I do a little research, and read somewhere that you can convert to DivX mode using VirtualDub. So I found out how and did so. In the middle of the process it said a frame was unreadable and just stopped.
So I scanned for Frame errors, and after it finished I saved it.
Then I tried using VirtualDub's Frame Server option and served the movie into Cimema Craft Encover V2.5. When I went to Multiplex the movie using BBMpeg it scanned the videa streamed and the came up with over 20,000 underflow problems (I don't even know what the crap that means).

I figure my best option is to figure out how to install a Xvid codec that DVD2SVCD can decompress with, and all my problems will be gone.

I was also having nothing but trouble with a couple of XVID to XVCD. I downloaded- http://www.doom9.org/software2.htm#filters - ffdshow codec and it helped. I also tweaked my priority settings in TMPGEnc, but you are not using that program so no help there.

  3. I'm not sure if the program you're using will convert xvid... but TmpgEnc does a hell of a job!

  4. Alright, I found at how to change my priority settings in TMPG for Xvid and that seems to work.

Also, I figured out that by using AviC (FourCC Changer) you can fool any program into thinking you are running a DivX instead of a Xvid. That works for DVD2SVCD.

(I didn't think to search the whole entire forum for the information I was looking for - *sigh* - oh well)
