I am very new to DVD-Ripping so please deal with my Q & A is of old stupid topics. I used Smart Ripper to rip a few DVDs, I then used DVD2AVI to convert the VOB files to WAV & DV2 files. I then used TMPGEnc to make my MPEG-1 files for VCD. I wanted to burn some to DVD using my Pioneer DVR-A03. But when I use TMPGEnc's DVD template the video is all studdery and has what I would call digital distortion. I'm using a Pentium III 933mhz computer with 512 Megs Ram and 3 80Gig ATA-100 drives. I see no system faults. Any suggestions? Also I do have ligos for Adobe Premiere 6 and Sonic Foundry's Vegas Video. Both provide me with clean MPEG-2 files. However neither program will read a DV2 file. How can I convert the WAV & DV2 files into 1 AVI file? Or can I take the files Smartripper made and create a single AVI file of the DVD content? I find it funny how I can't make DVD2AVI actually make a AVI file, but only DV2 & WAVs, I must just be missing something really simple.
Thanks for any help,
Barney
