  1. Hi,

I just got a new camera that saves video in MOV. But my devices require either AVI or MPEG2/4. I have
d/l ffmpeg but whatever I try, I cannot get high quality output. I have tried almost every frontend for ffmpeg. I have also tried avidemux but I can't get it to save mp4 and all avi's created require some codec .

Aren't there any commercial solutions that can do better? I don't really care about the cost I just want high quality mpeg4 and/or avi as output.

Alternatively I'd really really like some ffmpeg command line examples that will take a 720p MOV and produce a high quality 720p AVI and/or MPEG. Thanks...

  2. Alright, finally found a preset that works with ffmpeg. WinFF with preset "MPEG-4 H.264 video (super high quality)".

Well ... just to throw this in ... my Olympus camera SP 510UZ ... records in MOV ... I then use Sound Forge 10 to convert into another video format ... 30 minutes ago ... I converted a MOV video to WMV ... no big deal ... I just didn't want the little video to be in a MOV format.

Thanks lacywest, I'll check out Sound Forge as well.
