The program is pretty self explanitory. I even had someone who has successfully used it before help me. But for some reason, nothing is working for me with IC.

I was doing the movie Rose Red. I took out all subtitles, and only left English 5.1 Dolby. The menu was at 55%, main movie was at 60% and extras i set to 45%. Now it took me about 2 hours to transcode the whole 4.24gb. When it was over i tried using PDI2ISO and burned it w/Nero. It wouldnt read in my Toshiba SD2200(this player is kind of picky) but then i brought it over to my Magnavox MDV450 and this player plays anything and everything and no go. I then used PDIextracter and extracted all the files out of the PDI files into a VIDEO_TS folder. I then created an AUDIO_TS folder and burned with RecordNow MAX and still didn't work in either player. Finally, i decided to just burn the PDI files within Instant Copy and still would not work.

Every method, i get a "disc error" within the DVD players!
Needless to say....i have spent quite a few hours upon hours with all this crap!

So am i missing something here? I feel like a real ass, because i see everyones success stories and i can't even get the thing to burn right.

well I'm the complete opposite , not one failure in over 35 now

are you using IC to strip any of the titles?

which method are you using when ripping it?

are you using ifoedit on the files before using IC?

Have you tried PDITOOL and then used Nero to burn it ?

you could always try some of the methods shown in my guide that is still under construction but shows how to get a DVD prepared for processing with IC

  3. Just use DVD2one, works every time and only takes me 15 minutes to transcode any movie. Granted you don't get to keep the menu but I don't care about that anyway.

  4. just a question, why did u use pdi2iso instead of just letting instant copy burn the pdi file?? i only used instant copy on 2 dvds (episode discs) and did it to my hdd first and then later used ic to burn it and they work fine. (im pretty sure at least, i could double check in my standalone, but i cant remember any disc ever not working in my standalone)

I'm still playing with this software myself and have had a couple of similar problems. What seems to have cured it for me is selecting the output option to DVD rather than the default of automatic. I also had one that failed when I tried keeping the DVD ROM content - the PC installation software that comes with some kids films. I now check the box to remove all DVD ROM content by default (DVD ROM content is only an issue if you rip in ISO mode though).

Thanks for the responses guys.....but im the ass!
    I was forcing 2x write on my 1x media...LoL

So it wasn't IC causing the problems....good program but i still miss the speed of DVD2One.

  7. probably one of the only users who admitted it wasn't IC for the cause of problems. Oh well they'll be jumping outta the briar patch before we can eat our carrots and cake too.

  8. I'm still trying to figure out why Pinnacle calls it "Instant Copy", a better name would have been "Prolonged Copy" IMO.

dont forget the demo is a very old version and may be misleading

the new version includes faster processing and the abilty to remove TITLESETS and not titles, but I'm sure that will updated soon but you can remove the stuff before processing with DVD95Copy and get some very good results

IC ain't as bad as people make out though, it just needs to be used in a certain manner

take a look at my site if you wanna know what manner that is and howto prepare a DVD for processing with IC & DVD95Copy
