I REALLY NEED HELP WITH MY VCD

Hey there i recently purchased a toshiba sd2700 dvd player which is compadible with both cd-r and cd-rw. I converted my movie with TMPGEnc 12a and burned using nero 5.5. When i play the vcd it plays for a sec and then i get these squares on the screen. I have tried Memorex cd-r, Sony cd-rw, Gigastorage and a few other brands. I have burned at 2x, 4x, 8x, 10x and its always the same thing. Can someone please help me??

I too have a sd2700. Mine will play my VCDs for a second, then freeze (both audio and video), play, freeze.... its a vicious cycle. I've searched this entire forum and I can't figure it out and no one else apparently can either. I'm going to start playing with frame swapping before converting to MPEG1. I'll let you know

hey man i just got my vcds to work. Turns out it was my cds. I am now using the silver/light blue and everything is working fine.
