i dont know if anyone else has backed this movie up, but ive run into a little snag. the dvd has 2 vobs sets, one for full screen and one for widescreen. i just dumped the fullscreen and a few trailers and the movie fit fine without any re-encoding/transcoding blah blah that i would normally do with instantcopy. so anyway, the movie and menu fit fine on the dvd, burned fine, and plays fine in my mintek 1600 EXCEPT that when i tell it to play the screen where i would choose between full and widescreen flashes up for a second, not letting me choose one, then i get a strange cartoon smiley face that flashes red when i press the play button. i assume this is some kind of copy protection, but i have never run into it before. what i dont know is if its from the dvd or my player, becuase it seemt to work fine on my dvd-rom drive. unfortuanatly i have but one dvd player that will play backups. i would like make a copy that works, so i was wondering if anyone else had run into such a problem before. thanks in advance for any help you may offer. if you have any questions or need me to clarify, feel free to speak. thanks again.

I think it is from your player. I have backed up the same movie (widescreen) and have had no problems. I used Instant Copy for the encoding proccess.
