Hi all.
I see on the back of some blank dvd's recording 'modes'. Mode 2 is 120 minutes (a 2 hour disk). Mode one is shorter but better quality. As you go down the scale, it's more time for the disk, less quality.
Now my question is this...I'm burning disks on my pc after I capture video and convert to mpeg with tmpegenc. I know you can select out of the gate the bitrate you want to use. Is mode 1 4000 for the bitrate, mode 2 3000, etc. etc., or is mode not necessarily the bitrate, but something else.
Thanks in advance

I believe those mode #'s are for standalone dvd recorders and you can select quality mode using the recorder. It has nothing to do w/ computer dvd burners. 8)
