  1. There is a new firmware version for the DRU-500A/AX and DRX-500UL/LX DVD-recorders. According to the Sony website firmware 2.0e has the following changes:

    Firmware Upgrade 2.0e

    Allows your Dual RW drive to record at 4X on 4X compatible DVD+R media.

    Improves reading and writing performance and reliability.

    Reduces vibration noise for the discs with unbalance or eccentricity.

  2. If someone upgrades, I'd like to hear if it's worth the firmware upgrade. I'm running 1.0f, because I didn't have any problem with this firmware, and some people had problems with 1.0g. Let's see if this new firmware fixes all those problems .

    P.S.: Maybe we should move replies to the forum for DVD Writers . Can I move my post?

  3. Some folks are having problems with the latest version 2.0e and Ritek DVD-R 4x media. They have gone back to an older version of the Sony firmware.
