  1. I have a Xvid fle i wish to convert to VCD, so i have ripped the audio to an uncompresed .WAV file, and have 'frameserved' the video with VirtualDub and saved the .VDR file for TMPGEnc.....

However, when i click on the 'VDR in TMPGEnc iit does NOT recognise the file at all, and will not load it?!!! I use VirtualDub 1.4.9, but DID have the latest installed.

    WHY WILL IT NOT LOAD???
I CAN NOT MAKE VCD WITHOUT IT!!!!!!

  2. i am having the same problem.....
Time's not wasted when you're wasted all the time.

  3. Try turning on the aviproxy that comes with virtual dub and saving the file with an avi extension when you frameserve.

  4. you must install the avi-client in virtdub
and at last install vd and tmpeg in the same directory

  6. i want to convert the Xvid to Divx, so that VobSub will recognize the movie

what's the fastest way to do that???

  7. i'm confuse, no need to reencode xvid to divx to use Vobsub (subs)
did you have installed the vFAPI that is in tmpeg directory
    or
using the Vfapi converter to make a *.avi file from *.vdr and open in virtualdub
    or use Avisynth to frameserve
allways use the same script for all movies w/avisynth 2.07

  8. Use the fourcc changer to change the codec from xvid to divx. It is available from www.digital-digest.com

saved the .VDR file for TMPGEnc.....
Please forgive me if I'm pointing out the obvous, but when you frameserve from VDub, you specify the VDR file, then leave VDub running. Then start TMPGEnc and point it to this VDR file. The VDR is just a "communication point" between encoder and frame server, not a file that you sava per se.
If VDub can open a file, and start frame serving, there's nothing wrong with its understanding of the AVI format, so no need for changing the AVI with fourcc or other workarounds.
There's nothing mysterious with XviD - it's just an AVI like many. But it seems harder to get the decoder working properly!

  10. maybe we had a misunderstanding....
i want to encode the subs with SubMux(isnt it the same as VobSub?) in the .avi file that is a xvid, but it doesn't work....with other .avi files it works
now i dont even have tmpgenc, because every time i try to use it, it breaks down (tmpgenc.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close...)

@ majkol: I wasn't addressing your problem - this thread is about TMPGEnc not regcognizing a VDR file (see the topmost post!) and has nothing to do with VobSub.
If you have a q about XviD and VobSub, start a new thread. Don't hijack an existing thread.
