When I convert DV video into DivX without the audio and play it in Windows Media Player 9.0, it plays fine. But, when I convert with the audio, I get either: audio only and visualization, "WMP has encountered an unknown error". When I try to play it with DivX Player, it says "Failed to open". When I try to play it with BSPlayer, it says "Unknown file format".
    VirtualDub (Newest version)
Video codec: DivX Pro v5.0.3, 1000 bitrate.
    Audio codec: MP3, 96 Kbits, 48 KHz.
Filters: De-interlace (Blend), Sharpen by 6.
Encoding method: 2-pass through job control.
Does anyone know how to help me figure this out?

Try 128 Kbps 44.1 Khz audio. Do you have the DV audio codec installed? versus some Directshow filter that would let you play it( it's not the same thing ). Can you convert just the audio so it would play in an MP3 player? You can do the audio seperately and merge them with VDUB.

I believe all I have for DV is MainConcept DV Demo v2.10. Yes, I can convert the audio so it will play in an mp3 player (Winamp). Yes, I know I can merge them with VirtualDub. That's how I do it.
