Ok, I crossposted this, if it's inappropriate in this forum please delete it if you like.

    I have a Plextor PX-504A.

I am authoring with... well a variety of sources. I end up with VOB/IFO/BUP files, which I load into Nero. I tell Nero to make a Video DVD, and it sets up the VIDEO_TS folder, into which I drag these files.

    Problems:

    1. Sometimes it tells me the files are invalid, even when they aren't. This is highly irritating. I tell it to burn anyway, and SOMETIMES it works. Sometimes it doesn't.

    2. ALWAYS, it tells me "warning - you're about to burn a multisession DVD, and it's incompatible with blah blah blah". I always say "burn WITHOUT multisession" at this point, and the DVD's turn out fine. Is there some setting I've missed out on?

    1. Your IFO and BUP files should be identical. Sometimes some faulty authoring software does not do it properly. AUTHORING, not Nero.

    2. Use Nero 5.5.10.20 or higher.

    3. Do not burn DVD-Video as multisession.

    4. Don't cross-post.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

Sorry about the cross-post. It really does fall under both DVD->DVDR _and_ Authoring. *shrug*

I am using Nero 5.5.10.35, it has happened in both this version and 5.5.10.28 which I was using until today.

It's kind of irritating. I always choose no multisession. It works, but it STILL gives the warning and the choice. I don't know why it does this.

read that post, its my write up of the major fault in nero, and its beginning to seem like it is a broader fault than i originally felt, we all need to tell htem about this and it will be a good software.

Use ifoedit to get the VTS sectors then burn in Nero with the instructions here: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=127624

That should fix you right up.

    OR DON'T USE THE WIZARD

    I don't...
and so Nero still gives those some annoying "COMPATIBILITY MESSAGES"

I know that one I ignore daily concerns the .LAY file in the project that SPRUCE UP places in the VIDEO_TS...The LAY files is harmless to playes ..

If I don't want to see all the "compatibilty messages"- which may help If you've really made a mistake-
    I'll use RECORD NOW MAX

boy do I wish PRASSI would update their engine to see this drive (the sony)

and congrats to JAMES for nailing a real BUG

A bigger problem is the damn multisession thing. Nero seems to want to make a 2-session disc by default, but then goes on to warn you that it's not a good idea! Bleh.

There did you obtain Nero 5.5.10.35? All I saw was the .28 version on their Website. I am also having a few issues with Nero that I'am hoping will go away with the nweset version.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!
