  1. hope some1 can help me here,how do i find what type of motherboard i have and i can upgrade the processer i have.just now i have a

    pentium 3 500processer ..which is it bit slow but it has served me well.so i was just wondering do i buy a motherboard and processer togeter or seprate....all the rest of my computer is all right.eg hd,graphis card etc.thanks :P

  2. what compaq model # do you have?
    you may not be able to upgrade the processor to make it worth wild.
    so if you buy a mobo and a cpu(seperate)you may need to upgrade the power supply also.

    now the thing is,your case.i'm not sure,but i think you wont be able to put a motherboard in a compaq case.the case was made to fit a compaq mobo.
    maybe someone that knows compaq will comfirm that.

  3. ok i read the rest of the profile it says homemade,but i just read compaq.
    look on the motherboard and there will some white letters.say what they are or do a google search.

    Well, Ive used Compaq before and depending on your case size, you can upgrade it. Only problem is that Compaq Pc comes with a VERY handy Quick Restore and has outweighed the possibility of upgrading it ( it didnt have any AGP slots, and bois is a piece of sh*t) so right now im between PCs, but If your case is big enough, ive seen Compaqs go from Mini Towers to Server towers, then upgrade to the motherboard that can fit and suits interest...
