What version of TMPGenc are you using? Try upgrading to the newest one.
Try out the anime post on here cause im trying to make it the main anime post since you are trying to rip anime, maybe it could eventually get permently pinned to the top of this forum. ^_^

This can also happen if you moved the VOB's and .dv2 to a different dir. than they were when the dvd1avi was run to create the dv2
Hmm, I don't know, maybe, what was the question. -
Still nothing working guys, plzzzzzzz help me! It's for a gift and the deadline is fast approaching.

Can you open the .d2v file in Windows Media?? If not I would think the rip is bad.
What did you use, exactly, to rip the movie and to create the .d2v?
Also, in TMPGEnc, what are your environmental settings? -
Thanks for the speedy reply. they used EazyVCD, which uses Vstrip, besweet, and then tmpgenc to encode. The thing that gets me is, I've used it 20+ times w/ no problem. I'm trying to walk someone through this at long distance, and it's not happening.
The environmental settings are all default, w/ task priority set to high.
Hope this helps,

I am not familiar with EazyVCD, but the programs within are familiar.
Does Vstrip rip the DVD and make the .d2v file??
I know that sometimes one ripping program will work on a particular DVD but another one will not. I would try a different ripping program to get the VOBs (SmartRipper, DVDDecrypter) and use DVD2AVI to get the .dv2 and audio files.
If all goes right, you(they) should be able to open the .d2v file in Windows Media Player. -
I get the same error. I think it has to do with a decoder... probably main concept's. Have u ever installed Main Concept's MPEG encoder?
In any case, just create an AVS script and open it with tmpgenc. It works for me. -
make sure you save the d2v file in the same folder as your vob files and also install the tmpgenc vfapi plug in to the same folder as tmpgenc

problem with version of dvd2avi, try 1.76
donīt forget to install Vfapi plug
try VirtualDubMod that opens directly *.VOB files and try to frameserve
at last try to install dvd2avi in the same diretory as TMPGEnc
2man -
yeah, listen to 2man, install dvd2avi in same directory as TMPGEnc. Worked for me last week. Now I'm having trouble again opening d2v in VFAPIConvEN.exe myself as I didn not like virtuadub 1.5 and (frame display problems) so back to 1.4 and Can't open it... Can someone help me out with this one puleeze
Don't knock on deaths door, ring the doorbell and run, death hates that! -
like the last advise
all in the same directory
when having a problem w/unsupported or missing always try to put everyithing together
