Its better to have the empty folder there for compatablity with all stand alone dvd players
Although i have read it will play without it on some
I always add it in -
ok thanks it was a mistake (first time backup) will remember to add it in future
-
I never burn with the Audio_ts folder and in over 100 DVD's they all play in the three players I have at home plus the four players my family members have.
Also I should add if you look at the files on an original DVD movie I bet you will see that half of them don't have an Audio_ts folder. -
If there is nothing in it what is it for
or has it sometimes got something in it .. -
It's for making Audio DVDs (vs. the normal Video DVDs). The problem is that pretty much no one us making audio DVDs. However, it's part of the DVD standard so it's generated by most authoring programs and on most DVDs (although I have seen like 2-3 DVDs without one).
You don't really need it. There might exist some DVD players that won't work without an AUDIO_TS folder, but I doubt it
