  1. I can't open these avi files (Xvid) in media player or any encoder (CCE or TMPGEnc).. Error msg says "can't find decompressor codec" in all programs I use to open..

I've installed just about every damned codec pkg, except of course, the one i need! Can someone help me out? thanks.

  3. Ghoster.. thanks.

No error anymore, but.. no.. um.. nothing at all when I play the avi files in media player.. just a blank/black screen and no audio either (whereas before, atleast I had audio).

When I import the avi file/s into TMPGEnc (plus 2.50), I get a "No output. B-frame decoder log." ?? Do i have bad avi files or what??

    Thx.

Oh, 1 other thing, TMPG says the file/movie is over 274min long, when really, it's only 90min.. ??

  4. extract the wav file from your xvid using VirtualDub, then load that into tmpgenc as your audio source then it should read correctly. i never got that message before so i don't know what to tell you. as long as it encodes and plays fine afterwards then it shouldn't be problem. as for your media player not playing your xvid. they played fine for me once i installed that codec.
