I have downloaded a movie but the whole thing is in green. Really annoying. Can anyone tell me what to do please.

It's most likely an XviD encoded AVI. Get the latest XviD codec and ffdshow installed.

Thanks that seemed to do the trick but for some reason now there is no sound on any of my files.

Was it sound before? XviDs sometimes have ogg encoded audio, thet also need a codec. Use Gspot to see what it is, and make sure you have the right codec installed.
