I installed Alcohol 120% software on my PC, but I was getting errors and my PC was shutting down & restarting. So I uninstalled it!!

PLEASE NOTE: Alcohol 120% created a new DVD-ROM Drive, and after I uninstalled it from my PC, the extra drive was removed also!

BUT NOW WHEN I INSERT ANY DISC IN ANY OF THE DRIVES NONE OF THEM is able to read the discs.

Specially the audio CDs ( I can't OPEN/EXPLORE/PLAY ) any of them. I keep getting the message....INSERT DISC IN YOUR DRIVE!
BEFORE.. ALL OF THEM WORKED FINE !!

I made sure all the latest drivers are installed!
I even uninstalled & reinstalled my both drives to make sure..and still nothing!

I think when ALCOHOL 120% created a new drive it screwed up my two orginals!

Some of DATA discs work but I need to right click on DVD/CD-ROM drive and click explore for the disc to open!

I HAVE LG DVD-ROM DRIVE DRD-8120B and PIONEER DVR-A05 DVD-R/RW CD-R/RW with latest firmwares and drivers.

    SOMEONE PLEASE HELP...........BIGpol

  2. I would first remove the drives from within windows in windows device manager then shut down the computer and disconnect the actual drives. Then I would re-install the motherboards IDE drivers (VIA 4in1, Intel, or SIS chipsets). Finally I would hook up the drives and let windows find them again.

  4. Yes open the case and disconnect the cables. To find what drivers are needed for the IDE you need to know what motherboard you have then from that you should be able to determine what chipset the motherboard has like VIA, or Intel, or SIS. IF you know the motherboard go to the manufacturers web site and there you will find the latest IDE and other drivers for that board.

If you don't feel comfortable with installing drivers then either find a friend to help you or just take it to a shop and let them sort out the problem.
